Niek Biesterbos CEO

My passion for IT started at a young age. I built my first mobile games in primary school and did not stop developing myself from that point onwards.

I have broad knowledge of the entire cycle of structure and execution regarding IT projects. A characteristic of me is that I am very perfectionistic, and this is noticeable in our projects. We do not build our projects as fast as possible but as good as possible. The projects should be sustainable and not a short-term solution. This way you get the most out of your product.

As the CEO, I put myself for our customers and our network of developers and designers. In such a manner, we all contribute to an innovative and sustainable product.

I have always wondered how things work and interact with each other, especially in the IT field. How can my phone recognise my face? Why can I pay wireless with a credit card? These kinds of questions made me choose a Computer Science study at the TU Delft.

My studies introduced me to all the aspects that are introduced in software technology, from building websites to developing artificial intelligence solutions. A crucial artefact in Merge IT is that the determination of the best solution requires knowing what solutions are out there.

As the CTO, I try to act as the bridge between our developers and our customers. I try to get the most out of the developers by discussing the best technical possibilities for their needs. I also try to get the most out of you, the customer. I try to translate your requirements into the most suitable technological solutions, contributing to a better product.

I think that simplicity is key. All around the internet, I see websites that are complicated and hard to comprehend. I try to prevent that. That is why I specialised in developing websites and web applications using WebFlow.

Using WebFlow and many other plugins, I can build a fast, easy-to-use and user friendly website. The websites I have built consider the SEO, ensuring the highest findability possible.

I graduated my Economics bachelor degree, but I've always had a passion for computers and entrepreneurship. While still in school I built my own self-serving internet application. This required me to learn a few programming languages on my own.

Nowadays I work exclusively with frameworks like Laravel to create solid and scalable web based applications and Flutter to create iOS and Android apps.
